The Process

From booking to visit — here's what to expect.

01

Book your visit online

Select a date and time that works for you. Visits require a 3-hour minimum. If you'd like to talk through your needs first, start with a free discovery call.

02

We confirm and prepare

You'll receive a confirmation with all the details. Let us know in advance what tasks you'd like prioritized — we come prepared to be useful from the moment we arrive.

03

We show up and get to work

A consistent, professional helper arrives on time and works through your task list. You can be as involved or hands-off as you prefer.

04

Follow-up summary

After each visit you'll receive a brief summary of what was completed. Families who aren't local especially appreciate this — it keeps everyone in the loop.

Common Questions

What families usually ask.

Why is there a 3-hour minimum?

A 3-hour visit allows us to make meaningful progress on multiple tasks. Shorter visits often don't leave enough time to do the work properly, and we'd rather show up and truly help than rush through a list.

Do we need to be home during the visit?

Not necessarily. Many families set up a key or lockbox. We're happy to work independently — just leave a task list and we'll take care of it. A brief walkthrough on the first visit is helpful.

What does "light handyman work" include?

Things like changing lightbulbs, assembling flat-pack furniture, hanging pictures, swapping batteries in smoke detectors, and other small tasks that don't require a licensed contractor.

What does "non-ADA transportation" mean?

We can drive seniors to appointments, errands, or outings in a standard vehicle. We are not a licensed medical transport service and cannot accommodate wheelchair lifts or specialized medical transport needs.

Can we book recurring visits?

Yes — recurring weekly or bi-weekly visits are available and encouraged. Consistency helps build trust and makes each visit more efficient. Reach out to discuss scheduling options.

How is this different from a home safety assessment?

The Home Safety Assessment is a one-time evaluation of the home's safety — it results in a written report with recommendations. The Home Helper Service is ongoing, hands-on help with daily tasks. Many families do both. Learn more →
